Reset to Renew Momentum

I’ve recently heard Reset used in two contexts and I think we can learn from both.

The first was in the inspiring story of a war veteran returning without his legs. Asked what was next for him he essentially said “I’m going to Reset my goals and continue to do the best I can everyday, just like before”.

The second was over breakfast with a businessman describing his view of the current environment of recession and very tight credit. His perspective is that many companies are Resetting their goals and strategies to be consistent with reality. In some cases that means making some significant and real strategic change so as to be operating a different

So maybe the current economic and psychological malaise provides an excuse for you to Reset. Take this as an opportunity to picture yourself moving in the direction of your dreams with some momentum. Do you have some beliefs, emotions or habits that can be let go of? Do you have some unworkable strategies that lead to an inefficient use of time? Are you doing things you don’t enjoy that can be jettisoned? Is it time to sever some relationships that aren’t the best use of your precious time?
