Evolve to Build Momentum

There are interesting differences of opinion about evolution. This from a recent Gallup Poll;

No evolution; God created the human race as it is; 44%;
Evolution over millions of years guided by God 36%;
Evolution with no God involved 14%;

Almost half seem to challenge the concept of evolution. Maybe that explains why so many people nowadays are so slow to evolve their own lives. They just bounce thru life. If you feel that describes you and you need some help evolving your life here’s a primer adapted from The Online Coaching Clinic.

Create a plan to evolve. You can create the first draft of this plan in thirty minutes, if you do it without distractions.

A. Look backward from success. Answer these questions? If I was sitting here three years from today and was feeling really satisfied with my life what would be different? What new relationships would I have? What accomplishments would I have had? What’s the best change I would have completed?

B. Determine the human resources you need. Who do you have to enroll in your dream to achieve your goals? Identify one person for each goal.

C. What have you already done that was initiative in the right direction? Identify steps you have taken in the past year with respect to each goal. Too often people start down a path they want to take but get distracted. Then, instead of calling a time out, they declare defeat. Assess all your little victories in the past year and then establish your starting point.

D. What would your “big break” be? Think backwards from success three years from now. Imagine that you had a “big break” that was instrumental to your success. What would that “big break” have been? Usually it would have been someone you met. Once you can identify that certain someone (maybe not by name, but by nature) you can start to search out that person and make your big break happen. This is the same as “don’t wait for you ship to come in, swim out to get it”.
