Build Confidence by Writing a Script

As coaches we often will help a client script what they want to say in an upcoming discussion. It’s a lot better to know in advance what you want to say then it is to have an ‘ahah’ moment when it’s too late.

The way to work on a script is to work backwards from success. This about what your objective is in the discussion and what you want the other person to be thinking so your objective is met. Then plan to include all the things you want to say to ‘influence’ the other person.

Remember you can’t control what others think. You can only influence their thinking by what you say. And you can only influence if you plan and remember to say the right things.
